Day 39

GOOD MORNING BORACAY!

What a glorious morning, with the sun shining and a clear blue sky what else can you ask for after we were met with rain before we can explore the beach happening yesterday.

Rina and I headed towards the dining area for breakfast and I was pretty surprised at the spread they have - not shabby at all!  A variety of sausages (we went local and got sweet longanisa), scrambled and hard-boiled eggs, potatoes, tropical fruits, lugaw, and pastries.  We had our fill and headed back to the room to get ready for some exploration when text messages started streaming in informing us of the arrival of the rest of the party (actually the majority of the party).  So we decided to watch the NBA game while waiting for their arrival and keeping Anthony abreast with the scores through texts.

They immediately checked in upon their arrival and readied to hit the beach!  My first impression upon seeing the wind-breakers and the waves lapping at the table and chairs (about 25 yards from the front steps of establishments fronting the beach) was where's the wide white-sandy beach?  We were walking on pathways and the wind was blowing hard creating white caps.

We later found out that that day had an unusual very high tide.  Regular visitors with us were astonished too to see the tide that high - engulfing the famous white sandy beach!  Nevertheless we surged on and waded through knee-deep water just to get to Jonah's Fruit Shake stand.  We stayed there for awhile till the tide subsided enough for Boracay to reveal its beautiful beaches!  The sand is really fine - almost like table salt fine.  The water was clear - though your waist deep in it, you can still see your feet - I had a hard time seeing mine because of my tummy but you get the idea.

We spent the rest of the afternoon swimming and playing.  While the sun was setting we settled down and had a couple of drinks to toast the fun afternoon away!
