Day 31
The heat was unbearable even in the early morning on this last day of May. Gab predicted that the weather will turn and sure enough it was in the mid-afternoon when the metro got inundated again.
I was on my way to the Guadalupe MRT station when I received a text from Rina to not pick her up as they will be heading to Tarlac - this was around 9:30am. After lingering for awhile, I took a bus ride to MegaMall to watch a movie. Lo and behold - this multiplex of a behemoth mall, with 12 movie theaters (4 of which were showing Men In Black III) and a couple more movies we have seen before, there was nothing else worth watching.
I decided to do some shopping instead and bought some snacks and toiletries that we'll use in Boracay - oh how we hope the weather will clear up for us to enjoy the place!
When I got home, Gab and Aix were getting ready to go out - Gab for work and Aix to take their two dogs to Tiendesitas Pets Village for grooming. I decided to tag along with Aix as I've never been to that place before. We dropped off Gab at his workplace in Pioneer St. then headed to CATS to deliver goods and pick up some stuff at their canteen. It was on our way to Tiendesitas when the deluge started. We got the dogs to their grooming station then Aix and I headed to the Food Village for a late lunch of palabok, isaw, chicharon bulaklak and fruit salad as dessert. Pearl Milk Tea and Melon drink were our beverages of choice with our hearty meal in that cool wet afternoon.

Day 30
Got up late (11am) as I was online with work till 5am thus decided to scratch the planned last trip to Divisoria. Explore Cubao was the order of the day.
I took the MRT and was in Farmers' Plaza in half an hour. I went around checking out the stores and stalls and the wide array of items they sell in that place. The fifth floor is a tiangge section and the prices they have there are comparable to what Divisoria offers. I was able to get a Samsonite luggage initially priced at P4,500 for P3,000 - a 33% off! I know I could have done better but I just don't have an idea of how much those things sell for - authentic or not. Nevertheless, I asked for it to be placed on hold as I still want to explore the place - I was just there for 15 minutes and still have about a 4 block area to explore.
I exited Farmers' and headed through Araneta Center to get to Gateway. It is a pretty nice place with its cinema located on the far side of the building. I checked out the Men In Black 3 showtime and the next one was was about 90 minutes away. I bought a ticket, selected my seat and headed out to check out what Gateway has to offer. I got one level down and it was the food court - how convenient! By now the skies have opened up. The lightning from the rainstorm can be seen through the glass dome of gateway and its booming thunder can be felt. It was raining so hard that it had caused flash flooding in some areas of the metro snarling traffic and stranding commuters. Reaching the food court, Razon's was the first thing I saw and craving for a halo halo headed straight to it and ordered their specialty.
Got in the theater and got myself seated - this installment of the MIB franchise was more heart where some questions were answered, can't wait for the next one.
Headed on home via MRT and a jeepney ride with a 15 minute traffic stop due to a Santacruzan along J.P. Rizal. I'm glad the weather cleared up for the procession to happen.
By the way, you can now watch the "Gandang Gabi, Vice!" May 27, 2012 episode online with these links:

Day 29
I dropped Rina off in Novaliches by meeting up with her cousin Camille at SM Fairview. On my way back I decided to watch MIB 3 before heading home but MegaMall looked crowded and it seemed that there will be a local movie premier as there was red carpet and an a throng of security personnel in the box office area. I just headed over to the FX terminal and got home around 3pm. The impeachment proceeding was being shown live on all local channels where CJ Corona was found guilty on Article II after all 23 senator-judges gave their remarks and verdicts.
Wow, watching that was the highlight of my day - I have to do much better tomorrow!

Day 28
Rina and I got up early when both our alarms keep going off. We decided to take the cab from Cubao instead of taking it from Comembo. We arrived in Cubao around 5:20am and had breakfast at Jollibee - it was crowded with call center agents having their "dinner" before retiring for their day.
We arrived at the Our Lady of Pentecost Parish by cab 6am and there was a long queue already for registration. We were registered as 51st and 52nd to be seen. There were more or less 300 who came for the healing of Fr. Efren "Momoy" Borromeo. We had a healing mass at 9am, a Shibashi exercise and an early healing for the children and people who are weak. Rina and I were blessed by Fr. Momoy around 11am
We were then picked up by Boyet and Gerlie and had lunch at Max's in Blue Wave. After lunch we went over to their residence to show Rina and I pictures they've had since our college days or about 80 pounds ago - Rina couldn't even recognized me.
On our way home, we stopped by at a beauty parlor so Rina can get her nails done - the staff entertained us with their RC dance and Rina enjoyed it so much that they did two more dances for her.I'll try and upload the videos on YouTube so just wait for a link in this post when I get that done (don't hold your breath though).

Day 27 - Trains, Jeepneys and Tricycles
A spur of the moment decision to visit the Agustin's in Malabon started our day - checked our calendar and it is the perfect day to take Rina over. We got ready early and took the jeepney to Guadalupe where we then took the MRT to North Avenue - it's last stop, a bus ride of 20 minutes got us to the tricycle terminal where we hopped on to be taken to the Agustin's residence. It was just a short ride of not more than 3 minutes and Rina enjoyed riding inside the sidecar.
I introduced Rina to tito Cario, who remembers her fondly when they last saw her back in 1995 and to the rest of the family. Ate Carol served us Pancit Malabon and Rina and I enjoyed it as it was garnished with fresh seafood. Olga visited while we were having merienda and she promised to have slots available for us to the much coveted noontime show - It's Showtime! on June 5.
We left around 2pm and got home only to be invited to go to Eastwood to hang out while waiting for Aix' yoga session to finish and then to hunt down the ever elusive Burger Machine's famous sans rival. It was only on our third Burger Machine outlet that we were able to get sans rival - bought their last 6 pieces!

Day 26
Our day didn't start until dinner time when we decided to do Pares in Pasig. Aix, Denise, Rina and I took the car and headed to Pasig via Buting where we saw this money changer place called "SheiDie" (pronounced as "shady")
![]() |
Things that makes you go "hmmm" |
Pares place was good and even saw some fireworks as a street nearby was celebrating their fiesta, - Rina took some pictures of the light show but it didn't come out bright enough.
As we were finishing up our dinner, Eia called inviting us to attend her friend's event at Venice Piazza and have dinner there - we told them that we just had dinner but will have desserts instead.
We met up with Anthony and Eia at the Fort and we then convoyed to Venice Piazza for the weekend event of Venetian Market - it was like a smaller version of Mercato. The selections were good, wines, coffees, juices, beers from around the world, desserts, etc., Anthony and I got shawarma and sago't gulaman each and got to talked to the event's co-organizer and some of their guests. Filipinos really love to eat!

Day 25
Still woozy from excessive laughter the night before I
elected to stay home while Rina went out with her aunt Aix and Denise. As wannabe foodies – they stopped at a couple of restaurants to try out their fare.
Memorable for Rina were Charlie’s Grind & Grill and Teriyaki
Boy's Bacon Wrapped Asparagus.
