Day 2

We called Dr. Noriezel Trinidad's clinic to check on the status of our appointment and Lisa (office manager) informed us that we are expected between 9 and 11am today.  We hurried getting  ready to catch a ride with Roselle who will be heading to QC for her 10:30am meeting - current time was 8:48am!

Rina's physician's clinic at The Medical City

We got dropped off at The Medical City a little before 10am and went directly to Dr. Trinidad's clinic.  There were patients waiting for her and we are going to be sixth to be seen that day - the doctor is currently on her second patient.  We were finally seen around 11:30 and Dr. Trinidad immediately got Rina's medical report from LBJ and tried making sense of what was presented to her - I feel sorry for her as she tries to leaf through several pages of a year's worth of medical tests and procedures.

Dr. Trinidad then went on a litany of do's and don'ts for Rina to strictly adhere to and asked for any pain that she's feeling as it has been almost a year that they've seen each other.  We pointed them out but missed letting her know of Rina's constant headaches.  Dr. Trinidad prescribed a slew of medications and asked Rina if they can be available back home - she wanted to make sure that we can have access to those type of medications - even generics will do!

Another medication she's planning on prescribing requires Rina to undergo an eye exam so we hurried over to Dr. Reyes' clinic located on the 6th floor of the same building.  This building requires you to take two separate elevator rides to get there!  Once there, and armed with a written note from Dr. Trinidad, Rina was immediately given an eye drop to dilate her pupils, it took Rina less than 15 minutes to see the world through my eyes and discovered how frustrating it can get not to have corrective glasses to be able to read or see clearly.

The ophthalmologist prescribed two further eye exams that will require us to head on to the other building before giving a definitive answer.  One of the tests were performed but the second tests will have to be done a week later as it has to be done by appointment only.

We were surprised that a sudden downpour happened while we were in the eye clinic waiting for Rina's exam result.  This is somewhat a relief for the metropolis after days of record breaking heat and good for us as we are not acclimated yet to take the searing heat.

A short cab ride is all it took to have us in MegaMall.  We headed to Sizzling Plate located in the Mega A food court and Rina ordered Sizzling Sisig while I got my trusted fare of Salisbury Steak - it was close to 2pm by this time and mind you, even though our tummies have been vocal of their displeasure, we weren't that hungry at all.  Maybe we were just tired.

We got Rina her Globe SIM card and P100 worth of initial load for her phone so we can start getting in touch with the world.  We had problems with loading the minutes and with Rina feeling tired, we decided to forgo taking the FX and took a cab home instead.  We succeeded in getting the phone to take the P100 load while stuck in traffic and started calling people to let them know on how to get hold of us.  Nearing home, I realized that no one will be home as Lara will be out till 5pm while Aix is at the canteen waiting for us to call.  We had plans to do Mercato (did I spell that right) at the Fort for dinner as they only have those on Wednesdays and weekends but with Rina feeling under the weather, we decided to cancel and with everyone still about an hour away from the house, Rina and I headed to Jollibee to get out of the heat and have some sundaes.  After that, and being a first Wednesday of Marian month, we walked towards the church to visit - time is exactly 5pm.

Having sundaes on a Wednesday

That night, I headed to the nearest Mercury Drug to get Rina's prescription - she had 4 pages worth of medications to fill.  I got pharmacist Dhes help me sort out the script while I got sunblock, loofah and other stuff Rina wanted me to get.  I ended up with a paper bag full of medications.  I had Rina checked everything out when I got back just to make sure Dhes didn't miss anything inadvertently.
