"This could be a good day to head on over to
Divisoria - not a weekend, not a pay week, still quite some time before the mad rush for school stuff starts so the place should be slow." That was my reasoning that Thursday morning.

I got to Quiapo area a tad earlier than when I was there the last time and after visiting the church went and rode the
jeepney that goes to Divisoria - paid the minimum fare and we were there in under 10 minutes - not bad! We got dropped off a block away from where I wanted to go so I walked through sidewalk stalls that sell items from clothes to construction supplies to car products - its a one-stop shopping bonanza!

Entering
168 Shopping Mall was a welcome respite from the burdening high noon humid heat outdoors. Here the dilemma starts - where to start? I decided to check out the items on the first floor and do a counter-clockwise stroll through the shops, stalls and kiosks. I got some items which were bulky enough to fill my backpack before heading to "Steak to One" to have a T-bone steak lunch - this is where Riel (Gab) and I used to eat at the last time we were here. Oh yeah, the items I have gotten so far and the lunch I had totaled exactly P500.00 (or US$11.88 @ the current P42.10/US$ rate)! More shopping ensued and at around 3pm and having filled my backpack close to bursting capacity and a big shopping bag, I decided to head on home to avoid the rush hour dash. I took a Quiapo bound
jeepney passed through the church and took a
Pasig-bound
FX before taking another
jeepney for home.

P115 for a T-bone - can't beat that! |

What!? Another mall? |
Everyone was surprised at the bounty I took home and somewhat amazed that I survived Divisoria unscathed. Not bad for a Thursday!
